PCU/Stepdown Registered Nurse

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift - 3x12 hours (07:00 - 19:00). Weekends are required every other weekend.

Job Description

The PCU/Stepdown Registered Nurse will be responsible for caring for patients with cardiac conditions, managing and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips. The role involves a combination of independent patient care and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a stepdown unit.
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips and vasoactive medications.
• Monitor patient vitals and manage complex patient cases including post-cardiac procedures.
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams regarding patient progress and changes in condition.
• Float to telemetry or medical-surgical floors as needed based on staffing needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1-year experience in stepdown or PCU settings required.
• Must possess valid RN license (Compact license required at submission).
• Current certifications in ACLS and BLS are required.
• Experience with the Epic charting system is required.
• Cardiac drip management experience is a hardstop requirement.
