Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

The Registered Nurse works in a collaborative and cooperative relationship with other members of the health care team, plans and implements patient and family education, and is responsible for assessing the needs and initiating appropriate interventions for patients. The role requires the ability to circulate and float to various units, including Mother Baby, and act as a safety companion.

Responsibilities

• Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health status.
• Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues.
• Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient.
• Develop and implement the plan of care.
• Employ strategies to promote health and ensure a safe environment.
• Enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
• Evaluate one’s own nursing practice in relation to professional standards.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and team members in nursing practice.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Montana Licensure (Registered Nurse).
• American Heart Association BLS.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program Provider required (recertification every 2 years).
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring Series Certificate of Completion (or equivalent AWHONN approved course).
• American Heart Association ACLS (not required for Lactation RN).
• Competence in and willingness to practice modified primary nursing.
• Two hours of initial cerebrovascular disease (stroke) education.
• If Lactation RN: Certification in lactation consulting/counseling (CLC, IBCLC).
• One year of labor and delivery experience preferred.
