Job Description

The Professional Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse and a crucial member of the care delivery team. This role is responsible for setting the standards for the level and quality of nursing care, managing and providing care activities for a group of patients and their families through independent judgment and collaboration with team members. The Professional Staff Nurse's role encompasses leadership, partnership, and supervision, establishing collaborative relationships to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care.

Responsibilities

• Perform in accordance with system-wide competencies and behaviors.
• Actively participate in quality improvement efforts and identify opportunities for enhancements.
• Utilize research and evidence-based practices to support clinical care improvements.
• Apply the nursing process within the framework of Relationship Based Care.
• Formulate daily goals and individual care plans, considering holistic needs of patients.
• Practice solid communication skills to effectively articulate patient conditions to other care providers.
• Serves as a fully engaged partner on the care team, responding willingly to team member needs.
• Provide detailed education and guidance to patients, families, and new staff.
• Demonstrate knowledge of cultural differences while fostering healthy relationships.
• Communicate any safety hazards identified in the workplace.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• RN license required, BSN preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience required.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

Schedule

This position operates on a Day Shift schedule, 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
