Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical Telemetry

Assignment Duration

This is a 26-week contract position that requires acceptance upon offer.

Schedule

Nights - 3x12 Hour Shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM) with every other weekend rotation and holiday rotation.

Job Description

The role involves providing high-quality care to a predominantly medical-surgical patient population, with a requirement for EKG competency. Charge nurse responsibilities will also be required as needed, along with floating to other Cone Health facilities when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Administer blood products and manage peripheral line care.
• Start and maintain intravenous (IV) lines, and manage heparin and insulin protocols.
• Utilize Rapid Response teams and manage isolation precautions.
• Perform EKG tests and interpret dysrhythmias as part of patient assessments.
• Maintain care for patients requiring PCA, BiPAP/CPAP management, and nasal cannula.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license required.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience with prior charge experience.
• BLS certification required.
• Epic charting system experience preferred.
• Traveler must pass EKG exam during onboarding.
