Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery (L&D)

Schedule

Night shift: 4x12-hour (19:00 - 07:30). Must work every other weekend and holidays as needed.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery (L&D) to join our team. In this role, you will work in a high-risk, high-acuity environment, providing care during labor, delivery, and postpartum. You will primarily function as a Baby Nurse during deliveries and provide immediate care to newborns until they are transferred to postpartum. You will also float as needed to related units, including Antepartum and Postpartum.

Responsibilities

• Perform labor assessments and monitor fetal heart rates using EPIC electronic fetal monitoring.
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and manage complex patient needs.
• Administer medications and IV therapy, including heparin and magnesium sulfate.
• Provide newborn assessments, administer vitamin K injections, and perform routine newborn care.
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Support breastfeeding and lactation initiatives as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• At least 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing, with high-risk experience preferred.
• Valid compact RN license.
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP; preferred: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate.
