Physical Therapist Assistant

Schedule

This is a day shift, 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday. Times are flexible as long as they are consistent and communicated with the Director of Rehabilitation.

Job Description

The Physical Therapist Assistant will utilize evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions and provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders. This role will work under the supervision and direction of a Physical Therapist, administering various procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan.

Responsibilities

• Administer various rehabilitation procedures, including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, and modalities.
• Assess patient progress and communicate with the supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatments accordingly.
• Report the effectiveness of treatment outcomes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers.
• Effectively communicate with supervisors and other health team members regarding patient progress and treatment plans.
• Document all regulatory and clinically required information in the electronic documentation system and maintain patient records.
• Participate in required meetings, including patient care conferences and rehabilitation meetings.
• Support and supervise students under the guidance of the Physical Therapist.
• Adhere to APTA and State Required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics during professional practice.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 1+ years of Physical Therapist Assistant experience (REQUIRED)
• Experience in Long-Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation settings (REQUIRED)
• Active Physical Therapist Assistant license (REQUIRED)
• New graduates considered if they have Level II experience and not just Level I observation experience.
