Physical Therapist Assistant

Schedule

Days: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts. Times are flexible as long as they are consistent and communicated with the Director of Rehabilitation.

Job Description

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will provide rehabilitative and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. The PTA will utilize evidence-based practices to support clinical interventions, administer various rehabilitation procedures, and assess patient progress to ensure effective treatment outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Utilize evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions.
• Provide skilled treatment interventions under supervision, including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, and modalities.
• Assess patient progress and communicate findings to the supervising Physical Therapist for treatment adjustments.
• Document all required information in the electronic documentation system in accordance with company policies.
• Participate in patient care conferences and utilization review meetings.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients and their families regarding physical disorders.
• Supervise and support students under the guidance of the Physical Therapist.
• Adhere to APTA and state regulations, maintaining current licensure.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 1+ years of Physical Therapist Assistant experience is required.
• Long-term care or rehabilitation experience is required.
• Active Physical Therapist Assistant license is required.
• New graduates with Level II experience will be considered.
