Job Description

The Interventional Specialist in the Catheterization Lab assists cardiologists with diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, including electrophysiology (EP) studies and radiofrequency (RF) ablations for patients of all ages, from newborns and children to adults with congenital heart disease.

Responsibilities

• Assist interventional cardiologists by scrubbing into procedures, acting as a sterile scrub assistant, and managing x-ray equipment.
• Scrub, circulate, and monitor diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures and EP ablation procedures.
• Monitor invasive cardiac waveforms and pressure gradients during procedures, including communication of patient vital signs and EKG data.
• Order and maintain par levels, along with equipment troubleshooting.
• Perform other duties as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Education: Graduate of a radiologic technology program is required.
• A.R.R.T. Radiography registry with current ODH licensure is required. BLS certification is required; ACLS and PALS certification must be obtained within one year.
• 5 years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Experience with pediatric/adult congenital conditions is preferred, along with sterile technique.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required.
