Job Description

As a Surgical Technologist, you will perform a variety of tasks in an operating room to assist the surgical team. Your responsibilities will include preparing sterile setups for surgical procedures, passing instruments and supplies to surgeons, and ensuring the operating room is clean and stocked.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments and equipment, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions.
• Assemble sterile and non-sterile equipment; adjust and check equipment to ensure proper functioning.
• Prepare patients for surgery, including washing, shaving, and ensuring aseptic incision sites.
• Transport patients to the operating room, assist in positioning them, and cover them with sterile drapes.
• Assist the surgical team in donning sterile attire.
• Pass instruments and supplies during surgery, hold retractors, and assist with site preparation and dressing application.
• Count sponges, needles, and instruments as per protocols.
• Help in the preparation and disposal of specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Clean and restock the operating room after procedures to ensure a safe and sterile environment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TSC).
