Registered Nurse - Palliative Care

Schedule

This is a 13-week contract position with rotating shifts of 3x12 hours. Shifts may include day, evening, and night hours, along with weekends, holidays, and on-call duties as needed.

Job Description

The position is for a Registered Nurse in a palliative care unit focusing on patients aged 18 and up with intensive symptom management needs at end of life. The RN will work with patients requiring strong IV and wound care skills, while also providing compassionate care to families in crisis. Effective assessment skills are essential to advocate for patients who may no longer be able to communicate their needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• NYS RN License
• Two years of recent palliative or acute med-surg experience
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Experience with patient-controlled analgesia pumps or CHPN certification is highly desired
