Schedule

12-hour night shifts, with weekend requirements every other weekend. Must be available to work holidays as scheduled.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. The RN will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver specialized care for patients with various medical conditions, including oncology, orthopedic, and urology diagnoses. The nurse will also handle care for ED Hold patients as needed.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patient health conditions, implement appropriate nursing interventions.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Perform IVs, bladder scans, blood draws off central lines, and glucose monitoring.
• Collaborate with medical staff to develop and update patient care plans.
• Provide patient education and support to enhance patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.
• At least 1 year of experience in Med/Surg or Telemetry nursing.
• BLS certification required; CMSRN certification preferred.
• NIHSS certification required prior to start date.
• New York state RN license or proof of application must be provided at the time of submission.
