Registered Nurse - Surgical Trauma

Night Shift, 12-hour shifts (12x3). Must be available for given shifts; no block schedules offered.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse for a high-acuity Surgical Trauma floor. The ideal candidate will have experience in handling complex surgical cases, including patients with gunshot wounds and severe trauma. This role requires strong clinical judgment and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with surgical trauma.
• Monitor patient status and respond to changes in condition.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Document patient care using the EPIC electronic health record system.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding care plans and outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in surgical or trauma nursing.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
• Active RN license.

Patient Population

This position involves care for patients with surgical procedures, gunshot wounds, quadriplegic, and paraplegic patients, with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1.
