Registered Nurse - Neuro Stepdown & Epilepsy Monitoring Unit

This is a 13-week contract position. Shifts are 12-hour nights, from 7 PM to 7:30 AM, with weekends and holidays as scheduled.

Job Description

The Neuroscience Inpatient Step Down Unit is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to care for higher acuity neuroscience patients. The role demands a strong background in neuro nursing, with responsibilities involving care for stroke patients, those with EVDs, and post-operative craniotomy patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a step-down setting.
• Manage patient care for neurological conditions, including stroke, seizures, and post-operative care.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions and response to treatments.
• Implement and oversee care plans in accordance with physician's orders.
• Conduct NIHSS assessments and other necessary evaluations.
• Coordinate with other healthcare professionals as needed for comprehensive patient care.
• Educate patients and families regarding care plans and health management.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license.
• BLS and NIHSS certifications are required; ACLS preferred.
• Significant neuro nursing experience, particularly with stroke patients.
• Experience with EVD management is preferred but not mandatory.
• Must be comfortable with titration protocols as directed.
