Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Monday to Friday with varying shifts of either 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 9:30 AM - 6:30 PM. No weekends, no call, no holidays.

Job Description

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will review patient history and physician's orders, educating patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation. They will position patients and perform imaging procedures, ensuring proper techniques related to the patient's age and ability to understand the procedure. Additionally, the role involves analyzing imaging results and addressing any quality issues.

Responsibilities

• Review patient information and physician's orders.
• Perform nuclear medicine imaging and therapy according to standards and protocols.
• Monitor patient condition continually and respond to changes as appropriate.
• Administer radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols and regulations.
• Ensure proper imaging techniques for age-related needs and cooperation.
• Analyze results and resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patients as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• CT certified with PET/CT experience.
• Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) with Nuclear Medicine (NM) certification from ARRT.
• New York State License.
• BLS Certification from the American Heart Association.
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
