Outpatient Physical Therapist

Job Description

The Outpatient Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating assigned patients and developing, implementing, and modifying treatment plans according to the patients’ needs and goals, as well as following physician direction. The therapist will also be in charge of delegating and directing discipline-specific therapy services for those assigned patients, ensuring functional treatment programs are designed for effective community reintegration. This role includes education of patients, families, students, and coworkers, as well as adherence to professional standards and compliance with organizational codes of conduct.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients.
• Utilize clinical reasoning to develop appropriate treatment plans and goals to facilitate patient progress towards discharge.
• Document medical records clearly, concisely, and accurately, in compliance with all guidelines.
• Provide patient care under signed, valid physician orders and within insurance approval as applicable.
• Participate in student training programs, fostering a positive learning environment.
• Develop and execute individual professional development plans focused on continual education and self-growth.
• Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Acts and maintain professional licensure.
• Engage with performance improvement initiatives to enhance service quality.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 1 year outpatient clinical experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Licensed as a Physical Therapist in accordance with state regulations.

Schedule

This position follows a 5x8 hour shift schedule.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
