Occupational Therapist - Day Shift 5x8

Job Description

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, administering, directing, and supervising occupational therapy treatment in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines. This role emphasizes patient and employee safety and the delivery of superior quality in all services provided.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' levels of functioning based on physician orders and implement appropriate treatment plans.
• Participate actively in the interdisciplinary team process and discharge planning for each patient.
• Complete and maintain all necessary documentation according to departmental policies and procedures.
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and therapy students, facilitating their training and development.
• Display a customer service attitude toward patients, families, and colleagues at all times.
• Engage in continuous quality improvement activities and document implemented quality assurance measures.
• Evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to meet individual patient goals.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families, ensuring understanding of treatment plans and equipment usage.
• Participate in team conferences and contribute pertinent information regarding patient care.
• Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate safety techniques regarding patient, self, and equipment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid, current State License as an Occupational Therapist.
• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in occupational therapy.

Schedule

This position requires a day shift schedule of 5x8 hours.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
