Occupational Therapist

Job Description

The Occupational Therapist plans, organizes, develops, administers, directs, and supervises OT treatment in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines. Embracing superior quality in patient care, the therapist treats others as they would like to be treated, is results oriented, and achieves objectives while being a team player.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s level of functioning upon physician orders and implement appropriate treatment based on assessment.
• Participate in the interdisciplinary team process and discharge planning for each patient, including placement, family education, and adaptive equipment.
• Complete documentation according to department policies and procedures, including daily progress notes and discharge plans.
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and students, ensuring proper application of OT techniques.
• Demonstrate a focus on patient and employee safety, adhering to workplace guidelines and policies.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families, ensuring understanding and engagement in their care plans.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must hold a valid, current State license for Occupational Therapy.
• BLS certification required.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in Occupational Therapy is required.
• Previous inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred.

Schedule

This position offers a Day shift with a 5x8.0 schedule.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
