Days, 8 hours M-F; times are flexible as long as they are consistent and communicated with the Director of Rehabilitation.

Job Description

The Occupational Therapist Assistant will provide rehabilitative and medically necessary treatment intervention to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders under the supervision and direction of an Occupational Therapist. This role involves utilizing evidence-based practices to support clinical interventions and ensuring compliance with regulatory and clinical practice requirements.

Responsibilities

• Administer various procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan, including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, and the use of assistive devices.
• Assess patient progress and communicate with the supervising Occupational Therapist to modify treatments as needed.
• Document all required information in the electronic documentation system and maintain patient records in accordance with company policy.
• Provide consultation to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers regarding cognitive and physical disorders.
• Participate in required meetings, including patient care conferences and rehabilitation meetings.
• Able to supervise and support students under guidance from the Occupational Therapist.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 1 year of OTA experience.
• Experience in Long-Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation is required.
• COTA license is mandatory.
• Active State Licensure/Registration when applicable.
