Schedule

Flexible schedule with 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday. Times are flexible as long as they are consistent and communicated with the Director of Rehabilitation.

Job Description

An Occupational Therapist is required to effectively screen and evaluate patients with cognitive and/or activities of daily living (ADL) physical functioning disorders. The role involves developing an appropriate plan of care while adhering to all regulatory and clinical practice standards.

Responsibilities

  • Screen and evaluate patients with cognitive and/or ADL physical functioning disorders.
  • Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions.
  • Administer treatment interventions including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, and exercises as per regulatory requirements.
  • Assess patient progress and adjust treatments accordingly.
  • Evaluate treatment outcomes for effectiveness and modify services based on patient evaluations.
  • Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, and other service providers regarding physical disorders.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and health team members about patient progress and treatment plans.
  • Document all required information in the electronic documentation system per policy.
  • Participate in required meetings, trainings, and in-services.
  • Support and supervise occupational therapist assistants, rehabilitation aides, and/or students.
  • Adhere to NBCOT and state practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics in professional practice as an Occupational Therapist.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • 1+ years of Occupational Therapy experience (required).
  • Long-Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation experience (required).
  • Active Occupational Therapy license (required).
  • New graduates considered with a Level II fieldwork experience.
