Respiratory Therapist

Job Description

This position, independently or in consultation with a physician, administers medications, performs various types of therapeutic modalities and diagnostic testing of the cardio-pulmonary system, responds to arrest and emergency situations, and provides CPR and life support systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory care to evaluate and treat protocol evaluations.
• Delivers medications via aerosol and metered dose inhalers.
• Responds to all Rapid Responses, arrest or STAT situations immediately, maintaining artificial airways, and performing respiration and cardiac compressions.
• Sets up and maintains all oxygen according to protocol.

Schedule

This position operates on a shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, 6 days on and 8 days off, from Wednesday through Monday.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of RRT experience (required).
• Previous travel work experience (preferred).
• Skills checklist, current to 1 year, pertinent to the specialty (Respiratory Therapy) (required).
• 2 Supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years (required).
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification (required).
• Active American Heart Association ACLS certification (required).
• Active American Heart Association PALS certification (required).
• Active Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (required).
• Active RRT certification through The National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) (required).
• Active Michigan/MI License (required).
