Job Description

The Physical Therapist in Sports Medicine is responsible for assessing and treating the neuromusculoskeletal and cardiorespiratory systems utilizing physical or mechanical means. The goal is to maintain or restore function that has been impaired by injury or disease, facilitate pain management, and promote mobility and health as prescribed by the referring physician. This role includes developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized plans of care for patients, as well as collaborating with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team throughout the treatment process.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations of patients.
• Develop and implement treatment plans based on patient needs and physician referrals.
• Administer and direct physical therapy modalities.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust plans of care as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current New Mexico Physical Therapist licensure required.
• BLS certification required.
• Education: Doctorate, Masters, Bachelors, or Associates Degree in Physical Therapy.
• No previous experience required.
