Job Description

The Occupational Therapist will assess and treat the impact of illness, injury, developmental, or psychological impairments of the patient in the performance areas of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including range-of-motion, grooming & hygiene, eating, dressing, toileting, driving, cooking, and working. The role involves assisting patients to regain, develop, and learn the skills necessary to achieve optimal independence, reduce joint strain, prevent further joint damage, and conserve energy. The Occupational Therapist is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the care plan for the individuals served, as well as performing and directing administration of all occupational therapy modalities while collaborating with the patient, their family, and the interdisciplinary team throughout the process.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat patients with various impairments in their daily activities.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families on treatment processes.
• Perform assessments and evaluations related to occupational therapy.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Education: Doctorate, Masters, or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Licensure: Current New Mexico State License and BLS certification required.
• Experience: One year of Occupational Therapy experience preferred.
• Skills: Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication, organizational skills, and proficiency in assessment/evaluation and time management.
