Emergency Department Registered Nurse

Schedule

This is a 13-week contract position with a Day shift schedule consisting of 3-12 hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:00. Weekend coverage is required.

Job Description

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. The ED serves a diverse patient population from neonates to geriatrics and handles approximately 100 visits per day. The role will require the use of Epic and Pyxis for charting and medication management.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in the emergency department.
• Administer medications and perform nursing procedures as required.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams including MDs, PAs, and support staff.
• Manage patient assessments, triage, and care plans.
• Perform conscious sedation as needed and manage patients with various medical conditions.
• Document all patient care activities accurately in Epic.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency department setting.
• Current RN license and all required certifications must be in hand at the time of submission.
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI, NIH Stroke Certification.
• Epic experience is required.
• Charge experience preferred but not required.
