Job Description

The Senior Behavioral Health Unit RN provides behavioral health evaluation of assigned patients and is responsible for planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care. The RN assists nursing peers and supports physicians during examinations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough behavioral health evaluations.
• Plan and implement individualized nursing care based on patient needs.
• Document nursing interventions and patient progress accurately.
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedural tasks.
• Administer medications and perform various patient tests within the scope of practice.
• Promote patient independence by establishing care goals and teaching self-care skills.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year experience in Senior Behavioral Health, specifically in an acute care hospital setting.
• Current BLS certification required.
• De-escalation training (SAMA or CPI) required.
• Previous experience in a geriatric psychiatric unit is mandatory.
