Physical Therapist - ARU Coverage

Job Description

Physical therapists (PTs) are healthcare professionals dedicated to diagnosing and treating individuals across various age groups, from newborns to seniors, who face medical issues or health-related conditions affecting their mobility and daily functional activities. PTs are responsible for evaluating patients and creating customized treatment plans using various techniques to enhance movement, alleviate pain, restore functionality, and prevent disabilities. Additionally, they develop fitness and wellness programs aimed at promoting healthier and more active lifestyles, while also working to prevent mobility loss before it occurs.

Physical therapists provide care in diverse settings such as hospitals, outpatient clinics, private practices, home health agencies, schools, sports facilities, workplaces, and nursing homes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical abilities and limitations.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evaluation findings.
• Utilize prescribed therapeutic techniques to promote mobility and functional independence.
• Educate patients and families about PT processes and home exercise programs.
• Coordinate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes.
• Potential to float to inpatient units as needed based on census levels.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must possess a current Physical Therapist license in the respective state.
• American Heart Association BLS certification is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent PT hospital experience is mandatory.
• Experience working in a Community Hospital setting is a plus.
