Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Description

The Registered Nurse holds shift accountability for providing care to Emergency Room patients by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and Hospital policy and procedures. The registered nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for safe delivery of care of the patient in the Emergency Department. This role requires maintaining clinical competencies through continuing education along with delegating patient care priorities based on the education and experience of the staff available, while providing direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
• Diligently utilize the Nursing Process in clinical decision-making.
• Exercise critical thinking and scientific judgment in patient care management.
• Maintain up-to-date clinical competencies through ongoing education.
• Delegate and prioritize patient care tasks appropriately.
• Supervise and direct the activities of nursing staff and other personnel.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must possess a current RN license in Wyoming or a multi-state RN license.
• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in an Emergency Room setting.
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP & TNCC, all through the American Heart Association.

Schedule

This position is structured as a night shift from 19:00 to 07:00.
