Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN)

This position requires a night shift from 19:00 to 07:00.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Job Description

Med/Surg Nurses provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles. Responsibilities include consulting and coordinating with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans, preparing and administering medications, educating patients on surgical procedures, and monitoring vital signs and patient conditions. This role involves providing bedside care for a variety of medical patients, initiating patient education plans, and responding to life-saving situations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Prepare and administer prescribed medications.
• Report adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with policies.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures and post-treatment care needs.
• Monitor and record vital signs and patient information.
• Provide bedside care for pre- and post-surgery patients.
• Initiate patient education plans and teach home care management.
• Respond to life-saving situations based on nursing standards.
• Participate in discharge planning and time management.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (must be through the American Heart Association).
• Must have a current Wyoming RN license.
• EMR experience is preferred.
• Prior experience in a community hospital setting is a plus.
