Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

Days, 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM, weekends required.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Travel ER Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills and the ability to manage patients across a wide spectrum of emergency conditions. This role requires the capacity to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment, handling various levels of patient acuity.

Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients presenting to the emergency department.
• Provide care to patients with diverse emergency conditions such as stroke, STEMI, trauma, and sepsis.
• Perform various clinical skills including PIV insertion, NG/OG tube placement, foley catheter insertion, splinting, and wound care.
• Assist with the placement of arterial lines, central lines, and chest tubes as needed.
• Ensure EMTALA paperwork is completed according to regulatory guidelines.
• Float to other departments as required, while supporting the ED's workflow.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• At least 2+ years of Emergency Department RN experience is required.
• A minimum of 1+ year of travel nursing experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications are mandatory.
• Ability to handle a nurse-to-patient ratio of 4-5:1 for ESI level 3 patients.
• Experience as a preceptor and/or charge nurse is preferred, but willingness to precept in the future is required.
