Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurse

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurse to provide exceptional patient care in accordance with nursing guidelines and applicable standards. The nurse will serve as a liaison for wound, ostomy, and continence care concerns, providing education to team members and actively participating in assigned committees. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities aimed at assessing and addressing the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients.

Responsibilities

• Assess the needs of assigned patients and initiate data collection and assessment.
• Contribute to the development of individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Implement nursing interventions, medical orders, and other related therapies.
• Educate patients and their support systems about care protocols.
• Monitor and perform routine and complex treatments, including ostomy, wound care, and incontinence care.
• Document patient records accurately, reflecting all patient care and responses in accordance with professional standards.
• Ensure compliance with mandatory reporting, legal consent, and patient rights.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and secure environment by following safety policies and procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Two years of experience in inpatient acute wound care, continence care, and ostomy care is required.
• Minimum of one year of travel experience preferred.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
