Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide care for adult and geriatric patients in the Emergency Room setting. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing patient care based on individual needs and is required to handle multiple patient cases efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition and needs on arrival and throughout their stay.
• Manage care for up to 6 patients with a typical volume of 40 visits daily.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Coordinate with medical staff to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Documentation of patient care in electronic health records.
• Participate in emergency response and respond to critical situations as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an acute care facility.
• RN license valid in Iowa.
• Certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS, TNCC.
• MUST have Iowa SING background check cleared (including criminal and child abuse checks).
• Mandatory reporter certification (Child and Adult).
• Must complete a 10-panel drug screening to include opiates.
• Titers for MMR, Hep B, Varicella, and TB must be current (within the last 12 months).
