Inpatient Psychiatric Registered Nurse

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift: 3 × 11.5 hr shifts, totaling 35 hours per week from 8 PM to 8:30 AM. Weekend and holiday availability required.

Job Description

Join our interdisciplinary team in the Inpatient Department of Psychiatry, dedicated to providing exceptional care for adults facing acute mental health challenges, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depression. You will work in two similar acute units, one with 40 patients and the other with 30, focusing on crisis stabilization, medication management, and individualized treatment planning.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with psychiatric conditions.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans.
• Foster a therapeutic environment ensuring patient safety and well-being.
• Float between units as needed to ensure optimal patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in psychiatric nursing is preferred.
• PMH-BC certification is preferred.
