Registered Nurse - Inpatient Psychiatry

Schedule

This position requires 40 hours of work per week, including 2 eight-hour shifts from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM and 2 twelve-hour shifts from 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM. Scheduled weekends off cannot be approved without coverage found unless previously specified within the RDO.

Job Description

The role will include working on a 25-bed acute inpatient psychiatry unit, dealing primarily with patients presenting acute psychosis, including depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and dual diagnosis. Staff will include licensed personnel and Mental Health Assistants, with a staffing ratio of up to 5:1.

The responsibilities will include working in different nurse roles (Charge Nurse, Admission Nurse, Medication Nurse), providing patient care, conducting rounds, taking vitals, and leading patient groups.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting preferred
