Physical Therapist (PT) - Kauai, Hawaii

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with a lunch break from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM. Flexibility in work hours may occur. Availability to work on Saturdays is required.

Job Description

The primary responsibilities include conducting physical therapy evaluations and providing treatments across various settings: 25% inpatient (acute, ICU, SNF) and 75% outpatient. The role calls for strong independence and comprehensive care approaches for diverse outpatient diagnoses and facilitating mobility progression from acute care to Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) discharges. The position involves working in the ER, ICU, Med/Surg (Acute, Observation, and SNF), and frequently in our hospital-based Outpatient PT Clinic. The full PT schedule consists of a mix of inpatient and outpatient appointments every 30-45 minutes, with new evaluations taking up to one hour, managing between 5 and 15 patients per day.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical therapy evaluations and develop treatment plans.
• Implement therapeutic interventions to address patient needs across various settings.
• Support patient mobility progression and facilitate discharge planning.
• Work collaboratively with medical staff in ER, ICU, and outpatient settings.
• Maintain detailed documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid Hawaii Physical Therapist license (to be obtained promptly).
• Experience in both inpatient and outpatient therapy settings.
• Knowledge of effective discharge planning and patient care approaches.
