Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Job Description

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) will provide basic nursing care to non-acute and acutely ill residents while maintaining a safe and clean environment. The ideal candidate will possess a caring attitude and the ability to react in a calm, functional manner during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Obtain nursing data through interviewing and observing residents under the direction of a Licensed Nurse (LN).
• Document observations consistent with other providers and provide general nursing care to adult and geriatric populations.
• Assist with daily living activities including bathing, oral hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
• Monitor and record vital signs and other health indicators, reporting any abnormal findings to the supervising nurse.
• Provide bedside care, including positioning residents and assisting with meals.
• Maintain a clean environment by preparing nursing areas and managing supplies effectively.
• Participate in Performance/Process Improvement projects and assist with training new staff or students.

This position requires 12-hour shifts.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of prior experience as a CNA preferred.
• Current full, unrestricted CNA license in the state of Alaska.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
