Nurse Manager - Emergency Department

This is a full-time, 40-hour position with a Monday to Friday schedule, onsite.

Job Description

The Nurse Manager is responsible for the operations of the Emergency Department, providing leadership and oversight 24/7. This role involves collaboration with staff and the Nursing Director to ensure quality nursing care is delivered, aligned with benchmarks and performance standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide coaching and education for staff to meet or exceed performance expectations.
• Design and implement individual and group development plans for employees.
• Ensure staffing patterns align with patient care needs and monitor resource management.
• Oversee daily operations, improving patient and customer satisfaction.
• Respond to customer concerns effectively and utilize data to enhance service delivery.
• Manage fiscal responsibilities, including justifying budget variances and exploring cost-reduction strategies.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary committees and lead performance improvement initiatives.
• Assure compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements in nursing practice.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Associates Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Three to five years of progressive clinical and administrative experience in nursing.
• Current Massachusetts RN licensure.
• Current certifications in ACLS and PALS; TNCC, ENPC, and CEN preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
• Basic computer knowledge and effective telephone communication skills.
