Job Description

The Registered Nurse - Operating Room is responsible for providing exceptional patient care in the perioperative environment. This role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the well-being and safety of patients undergoing surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct interactions with patients and staff in a friendly and respectful manner.
• Ensure compliance with privacy and confidentiality regulations.
• Maintain clean and safe hospital conditions.
• Respond appropriately in emergency situations to ensure patient safety.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care interventions.
• Provide patient education based on identified learning needs.
• Delegate and supervise nursing interventions performed by others.
• Document all relevant patient data, interventions, and responses accurately and promptly.
• Administer medications and IV therapy safely according to protocols.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to maintain patient well-being during procedures.
• Maintain sterile conditions and manage surgical instruments and supplies accurately.
• Identify and assist in addressing ethical issues related to patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• O.R. nursing experience and CNOR certification preferred.
• Current MA RN license required.
• ACLS upon hire or must hold an active BLS card and obtain AHA ACLS within 60 days of hire.
• Ability to function in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
• Strong communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude.
