Clinical Staff Educator - Day Shift

Job Description

The Clinical Staff Educator provides education and instruction for clinical staff, acts as a resource for healthcare training programs, and supports the development of education with department managers and clinical nurse coordinators. This role involves introducing technical and theoretical concepts using simulation training and collaborating with the Quality Management team to promote continuous improvement throughout the system.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of duties while maintaining efficiency and composure.
• Accept responsibility for activities' direction, control, and planning.
• Evaluate and make decisions based on measurable criteria.
• Work independently, completing assignments as scheduled and communicating barriers as needed.
• Prioritize and re-prioritize job duties throughout the day.
• Evaluate programs and participant learning; implement changes as needed.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and handle information appropriately.
• Foster teamwork and cooperation among staff.
• Demonstrate effective communication and convey empathy in interactions.
• Participate in required education for DNV programs as applicable to position.
• Assist with Quality Department activities as requested.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor's degree in nursing required; a Master's degree is strongly preferred.
• Current Oregon RN license required.
• Healthcare Provider CPR, CNOR, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Minimum of 5 years of hospital nursing experience and 3 years of OR experience required.
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and internet use.
• Experience in teaching and developing courses preferred.
• Familiarity with simulation manikins and software preferred.
