Registered Nurse - Telemetry Unit

Schedule

36-hour shifts, Days, 7:00 am - 7:30 pm, every other weekend and holiday, Monday - Sunday.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse provides patient care based on established standards of care, protocols, and policies. This role entails promoting patient dignity, conducting thorough patient assessments, and collaborating with healthcare teams to prepare for discharge and provide education to patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate patient care while maintaining a safe and dignified environment.
• Evaluate patient understanding and readiness for learning, providing tailored teaching to patients and their families.
• Plan and coordinate patient discharge, incorporating necessary support resources.
• Delegate and supervise nursing interventions performed by other staff as appropriate.
• Document patient data, interventions, and responses clearly and accurately in accordance with standards.
• Facilitate effective communication among multidisciplinary healthcare teams through timely reporting.
• Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds to ensure comprehensive patient care planning.
• Assess and manage pain levels, adjusting care as necessary based on patient responses.
• Recognize and respond to abnormal laboratory results, notifying physicians accordingly.
• Utilize pain management devices and support other medical equipment as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN License in the state of Massachusetts.
• ACLS certification upon hire OR must obtain AHA ACLS within 60 days.
• 1 year of medical-surgical experience preferred; previous telemetry experience is a plus.
