Registered Nurse - Hospice Care

Job Description

The Hospice teams support patients and family members through the final stages of their illness. Services are offered in various home settings, including the patient’s residence, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and adult foster homes. The Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive nursing care tailored to the needs of each patient, supporting both symptomatic relief and emotional well-being.

Responsibilities

• Conduct skilled nursing visits and assessments for hospice patients.
• Manage pain and symptom relief for patients in hospice care.
• Provide medical social services and counseling.
• Coordinate with hospice aides and volunteers to ensure comprehensive care.
• Offer spiritual support and bereavement assistance to families.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current unencumbered Oregon RN Licensure required.
• Healthcare Provider Level BLS required.
• BSN and/or previous home health, hospice, or case management experience preferred.
• Previous broad-based nursing experience is preferred to ensure specialized skills for hospice nursing.
