Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Schedule

Night shift (6:30pm - 7:00am), every Saturday/Sunday/Monday.

Job Description

As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, you will provide both direct and indirect patient care. Your responsibilities will include evaluating patient outcomes, consulting with specialists and ancillary departments when necessary, and adjusting care processes to guarantee optimal patient care and ER flow. You will also address the psychosocial, physical, and general care needs of patients and their families while ensuring effective communication throughout the process. You will communicate promptly with ED physicians regarding changes in patient status, symptoms, and diagnostic study results, and respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or treatment response.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care that meets psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care.
• Ensure effective communication with patients, families, and ED physicians.
• Evaluate and adjust nursing care processes based on patient outcomes.
• Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and treatment responses.
• Consult with other specialists and ancillary departments as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current Registered Nurse license within the State of Illinois.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC), and/or Trauma Nursing Skills (TNS) certifications preferred.
