Medical Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00). Weekends required every other week.

Job Description

The Medical Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) will provide care to adult and geriatric patients in a telemetry and medical-surgical setting. This position will require floating between units as needed and providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings to manage patient conditions.
• Administer medications and IV therapies as prescribed.
• Maintain accurate patient records and document care using Epic charting system.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Participate in rapid response and code events as necessary.
• Provide patient and family education regarding health management and post-discharge planning.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must possess a valid RN license and carry certifications in ACLS and BLS.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in medical-surgical telemetry nursing is required.
• Experience with Epic charting is mandatory; this is a hard stop criterion.
• Travel experience is preferred, with a focus on candidates who have not traveled for the first time.
