CNA or GNA Float - Nights

Job Description

This is a 13-week contract position for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) to work night shifts in various units, requiring the ability to float based on staffing needs. Candidates must be flexible and prepared to assist in high-acuity departments, providing care to patients with diverse medical needs.

Schedule

The shift is 3x12-hour from 19:00 to 07:30, with mandatory weekends and alternate holiday work. This facility strictly adheres to time and attendance policies, with zero tolerance for tardiness and unexcused absences.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, and feeding.
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake and output, and respond to patient needs promptly.
• Support licensed professional staff during invasive procedures, including PICC line insertions.
• Utilize specialized equipment such as hoyer lifts and wheelchairs for patient mobility.
• Engage with patients in rehabilitation services and group activities, as appropriate.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must possess a valid Maryland or Compact CNA/GNA license.
• Minimum 1 year of experience, with 2 years preferred in high-acuity environments like HICU.
• Current BLS and AHA CPR certifications are required.
• Experience with vital signs monitoring, EKGs, phlebotomy, and specimen collection is essential.
