NICU Registered Nurse

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift, 3x12 hours (06:00 - 18:30), with weekends every other week. May exceed every other weekend to accommodate unit needs.

Job Description

The NICU Registered Nurse will provide specialized care to neonates in a Level III NICU. The unit experiences approximately 190 births per month. This position requires a minimum of two years of nursing experience, with at least one year in the NICU specialty.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and manage IVs according to protocols.
• Monitor and assess the health of neonates with various medical conditions.
• Provide developmental care, including support for breastfeeding and feeding techniques.
• Utilize high-frequency ventilation and other advanced respiratory support methods.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
• Participate in high-risk deliveries and provide immediate assessments.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license in good standing.
• Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• At least 2 years of RN experience, including 1 year in a NICU setting.
• Experience with a variety of neonatal conditions, treatments, and interventions.
