Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the ICU is responsible for delivering safe patient care by utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN provides direct patient care within the scope of practice and directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the ICU.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care to assigned patients in the ICU.
• Communicate effectively with physicians regarding any changes in patients’ clinical conditions.
• Utilize hemodynamic monitoring and diagnostic studies to ensure comprehensive patient assessment.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient conditions or responses to treatment.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Willingness to float to MST when required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BLS and ACLS certification.
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in an acute care hospital setting, preferably in critical care.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) certification preferred.
• COVID vaccination/boosters preferred.
• EPIC EMR experience required.
