Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, with floating required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse holds shift accountability for providing care during the antepartum, intrapatum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases to Labor and Delivery patients. This is achieved by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policy and procedures. The RN demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in anticipating and planning for the safe delivery of care.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients with pregnancy over 20 weeks, labor, and antepartum conditions.
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education.
• Delegate patient care priorities based on the education and experience of the staff available.
• Supervise assigned personnel delivering patient care.
• Float to postpartum or nursery as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 3+ years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required.
