Professional Staff Nurse - Day Shift

Job Description

The Professional Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse and a vital member of the care delivery team. This role involves setting the standards for the level and quality of nursing care, managing patient care activities through independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with team members, and encompassing leadership, partnership, and supervision. The Professional Staff Nurse is committed to fostering collaborative relationships with physicians, healthcare providers, patients, and their families to achieve optimal patient outcomes throughout the care continuum.

Responsibilities

• Perform in accordance with system-wide competencies and behaviors.
• Actively participate in department-specific quality improvement efforts.
• Utilize research and evidence-based practices to enhance clinical care.
• Apply the nursing process to create a healing environment, formulating care plans that involve patient collaboration.
• Demonstrate solid communication skills, effectively conveying patient conditions to other care providers.
• Provide comprehensive patient documentation to facilitate caregiver communication.
• Engage as a full partner on the care team and assist other members when needed.
• Adapt to changes and demonstrate flexibility in the work environment.
• Educate patients and families effectively, ensuring they understand their care and transition processes.
• Build productive relationships internally and externally, demonstrating accountability and commitment to patients and colleagues.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• RN required; BSN preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience required.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Compliance with PA Acts 31, 33, 34, and 73.
• Minimum of 7 days of call per month is expected.
• Scrubbing experience as RN preferred but not required.

Schedule

This position operates on a Day Shift schedule, with a preferred combination of 5 - 8 hour shifts or 4 - 10 hour shifts.
