Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift 3x12

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. This position focuses on patient and employee safety, adheres to hospital guidelines, and emphasizes teamwork and resourcefulness in overcoming obstacles. The RN will utilize the nursing process of assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care with a priority on education for patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Perform a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of an individualized plan of care.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient's diagnosis.
• Provide timely patient information and status updates for team conferences.
• Responsible for direct patient care, utilizing the nursing process effectively.
• Initiate discharge planning on all patients from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide direction and supervision of nursing personnel.
• Assure personal and environmental safety according to policies and procedures.
• Maintain communication with management regarding service needs and supplies.
• Assume charge responsibility as requested after the orientation period.
• Engage in ongoing professional growth through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current BLS certification required prior to first shift.
• Current ACLS certification required prior to first shift (for specific units).
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.

Schedule

This position offers a night shift schedule of 3x12 hours.
