Certified Scrub Technician

Monday-Thursday, 10-hour days, full-time

Job Description

The Certified Scrub Technician is responsible for the safe and sterile setup and handling of all surgical instrumentation during scheduled and emergency surgical cases. This includes gathering all necessary instrumentation and supplies noted on surgeons' pick sheets. The employee must be conscientious regarding procedures and capable of accepting pressure assignments, clerical assignments, and other duties relative to the department. They must maintain a high degree of confidentiality and support the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile surgical environments
• Assist in the handling of surgical instruments during procedures
• Ensure the availability of necessary supplies and instrumentation
• Comply with established safety and infection control procedures
• Work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech program
• Current ORT certification
• Current experience in the operating room required
• BCLS certification
• Effective communication skills with department personnel, medical staff, and sales/repair representatives
