Job Description

The Cardiovascular Registered Nurse uses clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat patient responses to actual or potential health conditions. The RN is a critical member of the Cardiovascular Unit (CVU), which cares for over 4,000 cardiology patients annually. Procedures include PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, and bi-ventricular pacemakers. The unit also specializes in the care of patients with congestive heart failure and performs electrophysiology studies. The CVU has been recognized with a Silver level Beacon Award and is committed to exceptional patient care and optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to cardiovascular patients, implementing nursing diagnoses and interventions.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Assist in the management of patients post-open heart surgery.
• Participate in clinical trials and research within the CVU.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 1+ year of Stepdown experience - REQUIRED
• Proficiency in Cardiac - REQUIRED
• Travel experience - REQUIRED
• Comfortability with EKGs - REQUIRED
• Michigan RN license verification required (LARA and Nursys)
• ACLS and BLS certifications
