Outpatient Physical Therapist
Job Description
The Outpatient Physical Therapist will evaluate all assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify treatment plans in accordance with the patients' needs, goals, and physician direction. This role is responsible for the delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring the design of functional treatment programs that allow for effective return to community activities. The therapist will also serve as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers.
Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients.
- Utilize clinical reasoning to develop treatment plans and goals aimed at progressing patients towards discharge within an established length of stay.
- Maintain clear, concise, accurate, and timely medical record documentation, including goal writing and assessments.
- Ensure care is provided under signed, valid physician orders and within insurance approval.
- Participate in student programs by providing a positive learning environment, appropriate supervision, and evaluations.
- Actively pursue professional development through continuing education and involvement in professional activities.
- Adhere to state practice acts and regulatory agencies, maintaining licensure in good standing.
- Understand performance improvement methodologies to improve service quality.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
- 1+ year of outpatient clinical experience preferred.
- Current CPR certification.
- Active and applicable physical therapy license for the state where work will be performed.
Schedule
This position operates on a 5x8.0 schedule, with hours to be determined upon hire.
